Brian
Aguilar

A storyteller and creative producer rooted in film & video — who reverse-engineered podcasting in 2014 and built a decade-long career: 1,000+ episodes across 30+ shows. Podcasts are IP. They live across platforms. That's how I build them.

Creative Producer.
Film Background.
Podcast Career.

My foundation is in film and video production — I studied Cinema & Television Production at USC's School of Cinematic Arts, and I've spent years shooting, editing, and producing video across formats. That visual storytelling instinct informs everything I make, including audio.

"I reverse-engineered podcasting — and it launched everything."

In 2014 I became obsessed with podcasts and taught myself how they actually work — the production, sound design, RSS infrastructure, and distribution. By 2016 that curiosity had become a career. Since then I've produced, written, edited, and sound-designed over 1,000 episodes across 30+ shows spanning comedy, politics, narrative fiction, news, and community storytelling.

The thread connecting almost all of it: shows led by queer and BIPOC creators. My range is real — I've managed just a show's social presence, and I've built shows entirely from scratch: concept, launch, RSS, publishing, growth strategy. Whatever the show needs.

NPR/LAist-selected creator. Streamy Award winner (Good Mythical Morning, Show of the Year). Currently producing A Climate Change with Matt Matern in Los Angeles.
